Rohit Shetty directed and Shahrukh Khan starrer film “Chennai Express” is doing spectacular performance across the globe and everything goes beyond expectation. Everyday, it is making new records whether it is paid preview, opening day, second day, weekend or Monday. The film is creating history and stunning everyone with its performance.
If we talk about Monday, the film performed beyond expectation and shatter highest Monday’s record of 12.50 crores made by Ranbir Kapoor’s film “Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani” in May-June. The film stared slowly in the morning shows and there was hullabaloo all over that CE showed huge drop on Monday but later film improved and finished around 14.50 crores.
Performance of film was good all over but in Mumbai, Bihar, CI, CP and Gujarat was very strong and it will continue very good business in next few weeks in these areas. The film is unstoppable and expected to make some new record in coming day. The way film is performing it may finish first week around 150 crores as I said yesterday, if continues this trend on next two days.
It will take advantage of Independence Day but get tough competition with Akshay Kumar starrer film “Once Upon A TimeIn Mumbai Doubara”. It depends on performance of film and screen available because according to deal, “CE” has to leave reasonable number of screens for UOATIMD on 15th August. Earlier, both films were schedule to release on same date.
Now, let us come to overseas performance; CE has done awesome performance on international box office and collected more than 58 crores in just 4 days and expected to finish first week around 70 crores.
