Whatever will be said about “Chennai Express” would be less. The film is doing amazing business in second week and achieving news honors; yesterday it made another record and becomes 2nd film of Indian cinema which distributor-shares crossed 100 crores mark. Last year, EkTha Tiger (111.30 crores) had achieved this honor and became first film to do so. Before that 3 Idiots had shared 99 crores. The way it is performing, it can surpass EET’s record.
Now, come to the 2nd Tuesday performance; the film took advantage of Rakshabandhan in some part of country and showed big jump therefore it garnered around fabulous 6 crores. Figure can vary because reports from some centers are yet to come. Now, total domestic collection reached around 188.43 crores which help it to become third highest grosser film on domestic box office.
As far as overseas business is concerned, it has done amazing business and so far garnered 92 crores. It will make century of crores at the end of this week. CE would get position of second highest overseas grosser but to break 3 Idiots record looks difficult at overseas but it can touch or cross domestic record of 3 Idiots.
