Chennai Express becomes fastest reaching 100 film’s in the history of Indian cinema. The film performed beyond all expectation and crossed 100 crores mile stone only in three days. Last year Salman Khan’s starrer film “EkTha Tiger” had achieved this benchmark in 5 days, but Shahrukh Khan’s film CE has shattered this record only after one year in just three days.
Chennai Express is doing phenomenal performance since paid preview on 8th August and has shattered all previous records whether it is paid preview, opening day, 2nd day or weekend. Now, Shahrukh Khan holds almost all records except best non-holiday opener made by Dabangg 2 last year on 22nd December, before Christmas.
The film was released on the festive day of Eid and collected 33.10 crores and broke highest holiday opener record made by Salman Khan’s film “Ek Tha Tiger” last year on the occasion of Independence Day and Eid festival. The film continued trend on Saturday and collected 28 crores which is highest 2nd figure. Film again did outstanding performance on Sunday and collected 32.75 crores that is also highest figure. Now, at the end of first weekend film has collected 100.67 crores. the film will continue this trend on weekdays and first week should come around 140-150 crores.
“Chennai Express” has also taken outstanding performance on oversea and collected 44.25 crores on weekend. The trend shows film will reach around 80 crores life time on overseas.
