“Chennai Express” is first film of director Rohit Sethy with super star Sharukh Khan as well as first action comedy film of SRK. People were sure about success of film and expected to gross around 150 crores but nobody had even thought in dream that an action comedy film will shattered all previous record of box office. Film appeared as tornado on box office and thrashes almost all previous records.
Now, film is running in 3rd week but speed of film is not yet get slow. Once again film took advantage of another holiday, Janamashtami festival and collected around 2 crores. Now, its total domestic collection is reached above 211 crores and total worldwide collection around 311 crores.
Film will be available on fewer screens in fourth week due to mage release of Amitabh Bahchan and Ajay Devgyn starrer film “Satyagrah”. So film should finish life time around 215-217 crores. Total worldwide gross collection would stay around 380 crores or more.
