“Ek Thi Daayan” finished 1st weekend with average figure. It had opened with decent figure on Friday and received positive reviews & positive word of mouth but film surprisingly declined on Saturday and grossed only 5.25 crores as it happened with last week released film “Nautanki Saala”.
Film continued good business in multiplex but remain low in single screens which is unexpected with Emraan Hashmi’s film who known as darling of mass centers. Further it improved on Sunday with some jump and grossed 6.50 crores slightly better than Friday and finished 1st weekend with 18 crores.
This is an average weekend and unexpected result with Emraan Hashmi’s film. Balaji Tele Films had done enough and unique promotion campaign and there was enough buzz but it could not converted into cash. Last year, Emraan Hashmi had given back to back two hit film out of three but the way his present film has performed on 1st weekend will face difficulty on weekdays. Film will drop heavily on Monday. Film has also released on overseas center and estimated weekend collection is 2.30 crores.
