“Ek Thi Daayan” completed first week with an average figure. It was opened with 6.25 crores on Friday and took unexpected drop on Saturday, further it improved and took jump on Sunday but could not match first day collection therefore finished first weekend with 17.63 crores.
If we talk about weekday it started with around 50% drop on Monday from Friday and did similar business with slight drop on each day. It showed slight drop on Thursday and grossed 2.15 crores. It grossed around 10 crores on weekday and brings total domestic collection around 27.45 crores.
Tomorrow two films Ashiqui 2 and Iron Man 3 are releasing so it can get competition if new ones do well. Right now, 2nd week looks around 5 crores.
Since it is Emraan Hashmi’s film so there was plenty of expectation but it surprised everyone including makers with its performance. Biggest jolt was its performance in mass area which is supposed to be Emraan Hashmi’s area. Overall, performance of film in first week has been average but it will not be a deal of loss for makers. Film already recovered production cost.
