“Zanjeer”being remake of Amitabh Bachchan ‘s 70’s same named super hit film expected to do great business but in reality, it proved huge disaster. People completed rejected it. It is licking dust in very first week despite good content and great reviews. The reason is obvious, comparison with Amitabh Bachachan.
It was blooper of maker to cast a south Indian actor, "Ramcharan Teja" who debut bollywood. If there would have been any super star in this film, picture would have been completely different. But reality is that now nothing can be done. Film is crawling on the box office and box office India has declared it huge disaster
Now, let us take a glace over its performance in last six days. The film started slowly on opening day and remained same whole day. The film collected only 3.28 crores but film received excellent reviews and there was expectation that it will improve on weekend but negative word of mouth finished it hope. Film dropped on Saturday and again showed some improvement on Sunday but that was not enough; it collected only 9.33 crores on first weekend that is a horrifying figure.
If we talk about weekday business it showed drop on each passing day and collected consecutively 1.95, 1.18 and 1.01 crores on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Now, total collection is around 13.47 crores. It will finish first week around 15 crores and life time will stay around 18 crores. Since, budget of film is 75 crores so it is in huge loss.
