“Chennai Express” is one of most awaited film of the year. This is an action romantic comedy film directed by Rohit Shetty, director of mass, and produced by Gauri Khan, Sidharth Roy Kapoor, & Ronnie Screwala under the banner Red Chillies Entertainment, home production of Shahrukh Khan & Gauri Khan.
Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are in lead role. It is second venture of this pair after 2007, when they worked together first in Farah Khan’s “Om Shanti Om”. Music of film is composed by Vishal Shekhar and story is written by K Subhash. This is first venture of Rohit Shetty and Shahrukh Khan. Budget of this film is Rs 90 crores or 15 million dollar.
The film is going to release on 9th August,2013 on the eve of Eid. As far as screen space is concerned, most probable it will be released over 3400-3600 screen for first week. In second week, it has to leave at least 1800-2000 screens for “Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Doubara 2, according to deal but it depends on performance of film.
STORY: This is story of a 40-year-old man Rahul who trevels to Rameshwaram from Mumbai. In the journey, he meets a beautiful girl and falls in love with her. She is daughter of a Don. Story gets interesting when Don knows this incident. Obviously, he will try to remove him from his daughter’s way and hero will do his best to get his love. In short, this is story of a train journey between Mumbai to Rameshwaram in “Chennai Express and most of incidence takes place during journey.
PREDICTION: Since it is one of most awaited film of the year, film already made enough buzz across the country and makers are spending heavy amount on promotion. They are promoting on all leading TV shows and serials. So there is fair chance to get big opening. Plus point for this film is its lead actress Deepika Padukon, who had given all time blockbuster film “Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani” recently, so her fans will increase audience group.
Shahrukh Khan already has big fan followers across the country and overseas. So, if film takes opening of 30 crores plus, it won’t be surprising. Premier show of film will be held on in the evening and night at some selected city on 8th August. So it should collect around 3-4 crores. Opening day collection should be in the range of 28-30 crores and film will gather 100 on 6th or 7th day. Prediction of first week is following.
